However, the work would be completed at a local business in Berrien Springs, MI. Responsibilities include Bookkeeping Support, Administrative Support, & General Office duties. 12-16 hours per week with a flexible schedule (e.g., two 6 hour days or four 4 hour days). Responsibilities:

The Lakeland HealthCare Marketing & Communications Department is offering an internship opportunity for a resourceful, motivated, and productive college student interested in developing marketing and public relations skills. Depending on skill set and interests, the student will gain experience in media relations, writing, editing, web site development, special events management, and marketing.

Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED is required. Must be at a Junior level in college or higher (completed 60 or more credit hours) with a grade point average of 3.25 or above. Pursuing a field encompassing marketing (examples: English, writing, art, graphic design, web design, professional writing, business)

Please note that this is an unpaid position, with an expectation of 12 – 15 hours each week and a tentative start date of May 15. Former interns with our department have advanced to positions in social media management, event planning, and education.

They have asked MCF for help in recruiting from our schools! I have asked that students send me their resume as well as apply online, as Meijer has asked me for names so that they can pull and identify our students quickly in the process! One thing I have seen that can be problematic is that when I tried to apply as directed through Firefox as my browser, it didn’t work. Information Systems Showcase: April 18

Come enjoy this free, come-and-go event hosted by the Information Systems department of the School of Busines Administration. Activities will from 10 a.m. until 9 p.m. in Chan Shun Hall on Thursday, April 18.

Attendees can participate in micro car racing over an obstacle course, help judge Information Systems students’ computers based on performance, reliability, and affordability, play clean computer games, and enter a drawing for door prizes. In addition to enjoying the Information System students’ computers that they built themselves in a class, you can watch them race robotic cars (which they also built) over the obstacle course in a race for the top grade.

The Internal Audit department is responsible for various projects such as working with external auditors in the completion of the annual external audit process, performing internal financial statement audits and a variety of other audits and finance related projects. Internal audit provides excellent opportunities for exposure to finance and accounting personnel at the Corporate office and throughout our many hospitals.

This position has the opportunity to work with an audit team to assist with the completion of the audit procedures and to gain a thorough knowledge of the Company’s business.

Specific job duties include:

Ability to perform audit procedures in accordance with written audit programs or verbal instruction.
To prepare clear and concise written reports on results and findings.
To establish effective working relationships with facility finance personnel (i.e. controllers and CFOs).
Ability to demonstrate solid knowledge and application of accounting principles.

Experience Requirements:

New graduate to candidate with one year of experience.

Education Requirements:

A bachelor degree with an emphasis in accounting is required.
GPA of 3.5 or higher is required.
CPA certification is preferred.

Travel Requirements: Travel of approximately 15%.
